Teaser, highlight film, full ceremony: what is the difference?
A wedding is not summed up by a single film. Depending on the package, you receive several formats, each with its own use. Here is what they are for.
The teaser: to share right away
A clip of about a minute, edited to be shared quickly with family and friends, often on social media. It is the first emotion you receive after the day.
The highlight film: the story of your day
Between four and twelve minutes depending on the package, it tells the day as a story: the waiting, the glances, the vows, the laughter, the night falling. It is the film you will watch most often.
The full ceremony
The complete ceremony, start to finish, with the sound of the vows. It matters most to relatives who could not attend and to you, years later.
Speeches and reception
A separate film gathering the speeches, the laughter and the first dances. Sound is essential here, hence the value of a microphone recording.
The same-night edit
A short edit ready during the reception, to relive the day that same evening. This option depends on the package.
How long is each film?
To get your bearings: a teaser lasts about 45 seconds, a highlight film between 4 and 8 minutes depending on the package, and the full ceremony follows the real sequence from start to finish. Speeches and reception are edited into a separate film that families enjoy watching together. Each film serves a different purpose rather than repeating the same images.
What will you actually watch in ten years?
The teaser is often shared in the first days, then forgotten. The highlight film comes back every year on the anniversary. As for the full ceremony, it is often parents and grandparents who watch it most, because it keeps the vows, the voices and the gestures as they happened. Think about who will watch your film, not only about yourselves.
The same-night edit, an option on its own
A short film of under a minute can be delivered the same day, before the evening begins, to be shown to your guests. It requires quick editing during the day and comes at an extra cost. It does not replace the highlight film, it complements it.
A word about music
The choice of music is discussed with you before editing, but you do not have to choose: we take care of it. If you have a specific song in mind, keep in mind that a commercial song can get the video blocked once posted on YouTube, Instagram or Facebook.
Photos, a natural complement
Films capture movement, photos freeze glances. Many couples combine both: the film to relive the atmosphere, the gallery of retouched photos for the album, frames and prints. If you are unsure, tell us what you would like to keep in twenty years and we will build the combination that suits you, without imposing anything.
How to choose
If you want the essentials, a teaser and a highlight film are enough. If the ceremony matters a lot or relatives follow remotely, add it in full. For a day rich in speeches, the separate film is worth it.
