How to choose your wedding videographer in Montreal

Choosing your wedding videographer in Montreal is one of the most important decisions in your planning: the images and the sound are what remains of the day once the guests have gone home. Here are the criteria that really matter.

1. Watch complete films, not only a trailer

A 45-second teaser always looks good. Ask to see at least one full film and one complete ceremony: that is where you judge pacing, image stability and editing quality.

2. Listen to the sound

Vows and speeches cannot be redone. Check that the videographer records audio with a dedicated microphone, not only the camera's built-in one. A film where you can hear the room breathe is unlike any other.

3. A style that feels like you

Some videographers direct the day, others fade into the background. If you prefer a natural look, watch for films where guests do not look at the camera. Style shows within the first minutes.

4. How many people will be there?

A single videographer cannot be in two places at once, for example while one partner gets ready and the other arrives. For a large day, a second camera changes the result.

5. The films you will receive

Ask for the exact list: teaser, highlight film, full ceremony, speeches. Confirm the delivery time and how the files are handed over.

6. Availability and travel

Book as soon as your date and venue are set. If your wedding is outside Montreal, or abroad, check that the videographer travels and how travel costs are presented.

7. A conversation, not just a quote

A good videographer takes time to understand your day before proposing a package. Be wary of a price given without a single question about your venues and schedule.

What the price does not tell you

Two quotes can look similar while covering very different realities: hours of coverage, number of cameras, films delivered, editing, usage rights. Before comparing two amounts, compare what they include. Also ask whether overtime is planned and at what rate, because a wedding often runs long, especially when the evening goes on.

Rights to your films

Ask the question simply: do the films belong to me, and can I share them wherever I like? With us, usage is complete and the rights are transferred to the client. That is not always the case elsewhere, and it is better to know before signing than when you want to post your film online.

Revisions and delivery times

A film is refined over time. Ask how many rounds of corrections are included after the first edit and how soon you will receive the final result. We include two rounds of corrections for video and one for photos, with films delivered within two months and photos within one month. A serious videographer gives you these numbers without hesitation.

Your gut feeling matters as much as the portfolio

You will spend an entire day with this person, including during intimate moments. Talk to them by phone or video before booking. If you feel listened to, comfortable and understood from the first conversation, that is usually a good sign for the wedding day.

Questions to ask before booking

What is your style? Who will be present on the day? How do you record sound? Which films will we receive, and when? What happens if we need to move the date?

You can watch our films, browse our collections or send us your date: we reply quickly.
